Until the severe weather events that hit Auckland earlier in 2023, this beautiful 3-bedroom, 2-bathroom brick-and-tile standalone townhouse in Epsom had stood the test of time. However, like thousands of Auckland homes, the property suffered serious flooding on one occasion as the council drains, without maintenance, couldn’t cope with the torrents of water. The result was devastating for the owners, who couldn’t deal with a very stressful situation. Our clients purchased the property in an as-is where it is in condition and set about turning this house into the once beautiful home it was again.

Engaging the services of Dean and his MTP North Shore sub-contract team to ensure the process ran smoothly and within their agreed budget and timeframe, preparing the property for resale. Having had significant experience dealing with the council and the sticker system used to define damage and repairs required to each individual property, Dean soon had the sticker removed by the council and had his tradies in full swing.

There is a strict process for reinstating flood-damaged houses, including using qualified LBP builders and registered trades where required. Each step needs to keep records and photos as evidence that all has been completed correctly and according to the current building code.

Fast forward 8 weeks, and the property is completely renovated to a very high standard and ready for the market. With a 3-week auction campaign and over 60 groups through the open homes, this property looks well set to sell and make its owners a good profit.
